Fluorinated Rubber Material
Resistance to heat and chemical agents.
VITON OR FKM (fluorinated rubber)
Viton is a fluorocarbon rubber, also known as FKM rubber and its main feature is its resistance to temperature and chemical agents depending on the fluoride content. In addition, fluorocarbon rubbers are highly resistant to: aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, water and steam, acids and alkalis, as well as weathering and ozone.
Due to their halogen content, they are self-extinguishing.
Disadvantages of Viton rubber: high density and low resistance to esters and ketones.
Fluorinated rubber (FKM rubber) is black with 75 Shore A hardness.
